Partnerships
Beyond the Bell’s Partnerships department is dedicated to finding meaningful and impactful opportunities for students of all grade levels. Through our continued partnerships with several Los Angeles professional sports teams, Southern California colleges and universities, and other corporate companies, we provide students and families opportunities to attend sporting events, visit university campuses, and participate in special events both within and outside California.
LA Rams
Our partnership with the LA Rams has been ongoing since the team returned to Los Angeles in 2016. One of the most significant ways the Rams have supported Beyond the Bell is through the donation of 5,000 flag football jerseys, distributed to each flag football team participating in the middle school program. Throughout the school year, the Rams have hosted numerous clinics where students learn the fundamentals of football from youth coaches. Additionally, Beyond the Bell has had the opportunity to take flag football teams to compete in the NFL Pro Bowl’s national flag football tournament.
Los Angeles Football Club
Beyond the Bell’s partnership with the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) has been active since the team’s inception in 2014. Together, we identified 50 elementary and middle schools to receive a mini soccer pitch on their campus, with 30 of these fields successfully built thus far. LAFC not only provides the mini pitches but also continues to visit these sites, hosting soccer clinics taught by certified coaches.
Our partnership with LAFC is multifaceted. To celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week, LAFC annually hosts a teacher luncheon and provides classroom supplies for teachers. Through our Outdoor and Environmental Education Eco Van program, LAFC brings their falcon mascot to school sites to teach students about the importance of wildlife in our ecosystem. LAFC also provides students and families opportunities to attend LAFC home games at BMO Stadium.
LA Clippers
Since our partnership with the LA Clippers began in 2018, the team has donated over 5,000 reversible jerseys for our elementary and middle school basketball tournaments. To emphasize the importance of education and sports, they have hosted various Leadership Seminars for high school students, featuring Clipper alumni players. At the elementary and middle school levels, the LA Clippers send academy coaches to provide basketball clinics for our afterschool programs. The organization has also hosted special events such as a Christmas toy shopping spree at the Mattel Store and a prom dress giveaway. The LA Clippers also provides students and families opportunities to attend home games at Crypto.com Arena.
US Soccer Foundation
Our partnership with the US Soccer Foundation has been in place since 2015. The US Soccer Foundation is the main catalyst for constructing the mini soccer pitches at various elementary and middle schools throughout the District. The foundation also provides professional development for LA Unified coaches and donates soccer equipment for students.
Southern California Colleges and Universities
As an extension of the school day, Beyond the Bell has developed partnerships with various Southern California universities. Our partnerships with institutions such as USC, UCLA, CSU Northridge, and CSU Los Angeles keep students enthusiastic about higher education and provide opportunities for students to engage with the various campuses. For many students, the trips to a college or university may be their first time stepping foot on a college campus. By providing pre-college experiences, we aim to promote possibility and the belief that higher education is accessible to all. Beyond the Bell’s goal is to provide impactful, enriching, and memorable experiences that prepare our students to be Ready For The World.
