Take Action Campaign (TAC) College and Career Awareness

The Take Action Campaign (TAC) – College and Career Awareness is a leadership program for high school students. TAC – College and Career Awareness promotes civic engagement and social activism while preparing students to become college and career ready. This program helps students identify and address issues impacting their community and empowers them to explore a wide variety of college and career options. Participants will have the opportunity to develop public speaking, project management, and communication skills that will prepare them for success in college and beyond.

Middle School Take Action Campaign (MTAC)

The Middle School Take Action Campaign (MTAC) allows students to participate in leadership opportunities and engage in civic events to address social issues relevant to their community. MTAC participants work collaboratively with the school’s student body, faculty, and YS PLUS staff to ensure that the voices of students are acknowledged and considered in the decision-making process related to the school and community.

Advocates for Healthy Choices (AFHC) and Peer Educators

Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE)

Advocates for Healthy Choices (AFHC) and Peer Educators are two essential clubs within the Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE) grant that foster youth leadership and advocacy skills in grades 6 through 12. Students take an active role in learning about the dangers and harmful effects of tobacco use and the tobacco industry’s advertising techniques. The clubs organize campaign events and presentations to share anti-tobacco messages with the school community. AFHC and Peer Educators are empowered with the knowledge to advocate for positive change in their communities, promote awareness about tobacco-free policies, and create healthier environments.
